Addcon requires larger premises due to business growth, having invested significant sums in its processing facilities at Herøya in recent years.
“We need to construct a new large warehouse and expand the tank farm with associated bunds,” says Hans Arne Eriksen from Addcon Nordic AS.
To meet these needs, Herøya Industripark AS has prepared and freed up new space.

Site clearance
Kristian Solberg at Herøya Industripark AS has been responsible for preparing the area that Addcon will take over. “Building 330 has been demolished, and the site has now been cleared and made ready. The contractor, Miljøsanering Nord AS, has done an excellent job getting the area ready within the agreed timeframe,” he says.
Complex dismantling of conveyor
One of the most demanding sub-projects was the demolition of the long conveyor that previously ran from Building 81. The conveyor was formerly used to transport dolomite up to the calciner, part of the magnesium production process.

“This was an extensive and technically challenging operation requiring particular precision. The area is dense with infrastructure and utilities, so demolition had to be carried out very carefully to avoid damaging the installations below,” says Solberg.
The work has now been completed, and the area is ready for further development tailored to Addcon’s needs.
