Bouvet strengthens industrial project capability at Herøya

Earlier this year, the IT consultancy Bouvet moved into new, purpose-built premises in Building 25G at the industrial park at Herøya. At the same time, the company marked the launch of its dedicated industrial unit: Basecamp Industrial Projects.

Bouvet’s industrial project portfolio has seen strong growth in recent years. The upswing began when the company established itself at Herøya five years ago. Since then, Bouvet has doubled its industrial project activity and significantly increased staffing levels.

“This is where we have our spearheads – specialists working on demanding, high-impact solutions for industrial companies,” says Tove Sørensen, Head of Technology Management and Advisory, alongside colleague Petter Olsen, who leads the development team in the Grenland region.

Basecamp is a dedicated industrial unit focusing exclusively on the varied and complex projects associated with the region’s industrial sector. The Herøya office serves as a central hub, complemented by Bouvet’s twin office in Sandefjord.

Designed for play and innovation

The new premises, designed by Børve Borchsenius Arkitekter AS, accommodate around 30 workstations, quiet rooms, a think tank and a small lab. What first greets visitors, however, is a large table tennis table prominently placed in the lounge area.

Bouvet run internal table tennis tournaments. Now they want to ivite others to come and play.

“We run table tennis tournaments here – and the winner gets their name on the big screen!” says Petter Olsen with a smile. “We’ve even challenged Vivicta on the floor below to a tournament. That should be fun.”

The offices are laid out along a circular route, a design intended to encourage movement and creativity. Olsen also reveals an unofficial pastime: remote-controlled car races through the corridors.

“The cars fly over the door thresholds, and lap records are constantly being broken!”

Bouvet's employees had a strong influence on the design of the new space.

Sørensen emphasises that employees had a strong influence on the design of the space, creating a real sense of ownership. The rooms have been given locally inspired names such as Gaustatoppen, Basecamp, Østsida and Vessia.

Expanding the learning arena

Next door to Bouvet’s offices is the Forum meeting room, which is open to all tenants in the industrial park. This provides Bouvet with an extended venue for its popular breakfast seminars, known as “Good Morning with Bouvet”.

“It suits us perfectly,” says Sørensen. “We’re planning two new seminars in the new year, and we can easily expand our own lounge area by sliding aside a large glass wall.” She encourages anyone interested to keep an eye on Bouvet’s website for upcoming events.

With Basecamp now firmly established and a strong focus on play, innovation and knowledge sharing, Bouvet is reinforcing its commitment to the industrial sector in Grenland and Vestfold.

Bouvet is located in Building 25G, alongside companies including Afry and Vivicta (formerly Tietoevry Tech Services).
